American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) 2009 Strategic Training in Allergy Research (ST*AR) Program
PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR: PhD students, MD PhD students, and PhD post-docs conducting basic research in allergy, asthma and immunology.
PROGRAM GOAL: To provide PhD students, MD PhD students, and PhD post-docs with an introduction to the diverse opportunities available in allergy, asthma and immunology research.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW: PhD students, MD PhD students, and PhD post-docs are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2009 AAAAI Annual Meeting, March 13-17, 2009, in Washington, D.C. Up to 40 applicants will be selected to participate in the ST*AR Program, which will take place March 12-15 (before and during the AAAAI Annual Meeting). Highlights of this Program include:
- Presentation of original research by ST*AR Program participants;
- Presentations on allergy, asthma and immunology research by nationally recognized AAAAI speakers;
- Presentation by a featured speaker from the National Institutes of Health
- Discussions about career opportunities in allergy, asthma and immunology research;
- Attendance at the AAAAI Annual Meeting postgraduate program, state-of-the-art sessions, and workshops
AAAAI meeting registration, airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodation, and meals will be provided.
The AAAAI Annual Meeting gives basic scientists an excellent opportunity to network with each other, and with translational researchers and clinical experts in allergy/immunology.
