Bernard B. Siegel Memorial Abstract Award
This award was created in memory of Bernard B. Siegel, MD, FAAAAI, and has been given since 1984. It is a traveling fellowship grant awarded to a physician from Israel who has been accepted to present outstanding research at the AAAAI Annual Meeting. No application is necessary.2009 AAAAI Interest Section Fellow-In-Training (FIT) Abstract Award
The Interest Section Fellow-in-Training Abstract Awards are given to the best abstract in each Interest Section submitted by a fellow-in-training (FIT). The AAAAI will award the presenter with $500 and a plaque. The abstracts will be selected by each Interest Section based on the highest scored abstract. No application is necessary.2009 FIT Travel Scholarships
U.S. and Canadian allergy/immunology FITs are given an opportunity to share in the benefits of the Annual Meeting. Domestic AAAAI In-Training Members qualify for a travel scholarship. FITs/PhDs who apply for a travel scholarship and are first author of an abstract accepted for presentation are eligible for a maximum of $1100. First-year FITs/PhDs who apply for a travel scholarship without submitting an accepted abstract for presentation are eligible for a maximum of $800. Second or third-year FITs/PhDs who apply for a travel scholarship without submitting an accepted abstract for presentation are eligible for a maximum of $650. All FITs are invited to Mentor a Chrysalis Project or Odyssey Program participant at the 2009 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Mentors will offer essential guidance and provide important information about the specialty to the participants of these programs. As a mentor, you will play an integral part of the participant's experience at the Annual Meeting.
FITs who agree to serve and meet obligations as Mentors during the Annual Meeting receive up to $100 extra reimbursement for qualified expenses in addition to their FIT Travel Scholarship award amount. Mentors are required to attend the sessions listed on the application. Mentor selections will be announced in January 2009.2009 Chrysalis Project
The purpose of the Chrysalis Project is to provide U.S. and Canadian medical students with a look into a career in allergy/immunology and increase interest in the subspecialty.2009 Odyssey Program
The purpose of the Odyssey Program is to provide minority U.S. and Canadian Residents in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine with an opportunity to explore a career in allergy/immunology and to develop professional contacts within the subspecialty.2009 Allied Health Professional Assembly Travel Awards
This program will provide up to 20 $750 awards for deserving Allied Health Professionals working in the A/I specialty in order to enhance their ability to meet with their colleagues and learn from their experiences. The applicants will submit a description of an interesting allergic, asthmatic, respiratory or immunologic case or program. Sorry, applications are no longer being accepted for the 2009 Allied Health Professional Assembly Travel Scholarships. The deadline was Monday, November 24, 2008.
2009 AAP Section on Allergy and Immunology Outstanding Pediatric Abstract Awards for Fellows-in-Training and Junior Faculty
This program will provide a $750 award to three fellows-in-training who submit the best abstracts involving pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) that are accepted for presentation at the 2009 AAAAI Annual Meeting. This program will also provide a $1000 award to two junior faculty who submit the best abstracts involving pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) that are accepted for presentation at the 2009 AAAAI Annual Meeting. This program will provide up to $750 in reimbursed expenses for each of the four best abstracts submitted by an AAAAI allied health member and accepted for presentation at the 2009 AAAAI Annual Meeting. International Fellows-in-Training Travel Scholarships are designed to financially assist research and non-research fellows and residents-in-training in allergy and immunology in attending the AAAAI's 2009 Annual Meeting. The ST*AR Program - U.S. and Canadian PhD candidates and PhD postdocs are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2009 AAAAI Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. Up to 40 applicants will be selected to participate in the ST*AR Program. An accepted applicant must also have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2009 Annual Meeting. Applications closed.
